Anita Tóth escaped the Eastern bloc and an abusive partner in one decisive getaway.
In London she found sanctuary and possibility,
the chance to live the dream, to let the music out and let the world in.
She met fellow escapee, Justin Sandercoe, on a train in Acton. Both were en route to the paradise of Kew Gardens. Justin had escaped from Tasmania,
long after it was the convict island Van Diemens Land, a prison for restless souls.
La La Land have created a style that is somehow both unique and familiar,
which may explain their wide and eclectic fan base.
Interesting electronic sounds are mixed with warm organic textures - Anita?s voice soars and intimately whispers over cinematic soundscapes.
The songs are catchy and melodic, concise and touching, fragile and fresh.
