No Hope Astronaut
From their conception at the dawn of 2005, through to the present, via their very first live show at a packed Camden Underworld, No Hope Astronaut have come a long way in a very short space of time. Constantly developing, improving and refusing to stand still they have quickly become an exciting proposition. Just catch their live show, for this is what No Hope Astronaut are all about. Whilst their recorded material is open to objective opinion, no-one who has seen their stage performances can deny the power and intensity on offer.
Unlike numerous other bands around, there?s things far more important to them than having the coolest haircuts and jumping on the latest bandwagon. Today?s NME is tomorrow?s litter tray lining and No Hope Astronaut will stand and fall on their live performances and ability to create, not on their trendy jackets and being name dropped by members of (X) band in (Y) magazine. No Hope Astronaut demand an opinion, one way or another. In fact the band prefers to be slated by the press than to receive indifference. However, one has only to read their reviews to see that this is rarely the case.
So where do No Hope Astronaut fit in the jagged, fractured picture that is today?s music scene? Putting a more intelligent spin on Emo but with Post Hardcore ethics and Alternative sensibilities they refuse to fit neatly. It became necessary to create a new sub genre to describe their sound. Thus, with a crooked smile on its infant face, alternacore was born?
......sparks of ambition burn bright.
Rocksound
the pioneers of alternacore...you''ll love this group.

Unpredictable, explosive and looming,...this is post hardcore at it's best for the disaffected youth, drifting meaninglessly into an abyss of NME ''The'' bands. Rawer than Biffy Clyro and played with small town passion, this puts British Emo on the map.
Rockmidgets.com
a few more bruising tricks up their sleeves to set them apart from the rest of the Kerrang-fodder.
Diskant.net
Knocking about the dives of South London, NHA have put together a subtlely forthright style of rock. The musicianship and ideas are first class.
Vanity Project zine
Playing a style of music that seems based loosely on the whole alternative scene in Britain. the band take this framework and kick the shit out of it....ironically, there?s a lot of hope.
Rocksomething.com
a strong statement from a band with a lot of promise
indigoflow.co.uk
possessed of a swaggering meaty rock tune with plenty of frontal guitar assault.
Newnoise.net
I get the feeling that theirs is certainly not a sound to be pigeon-holed into any particular genre Overall, this is powerful music executed with evident drive and purpose.
Glasswerk.co.uk
kicks off like proper rock, with great guitar playing, and excellent raw vocals. I?ll expect this band to go far in the future
